More on light pollution, from yesterday’s comments, and the other side of modern astro tech…
The first link is a piece that compares our current situation to a joke from Douglas Adams, while the second is a reminder that we may have less in our everyday life, in terms of what we can see in the stars, but we have so much more in terms of what our high-powered telescopes can see. It is really mind-blowing – it’s just that most of us don’t really have access to it, at least not in any sort of direct way, so our minds are not getting blown.
